If you had anything in common with the world, the world would love you as one of its own. But you don’t have anything in common with the world. I chose you from the world, and that’s why the world hates you.

I have given them your message. But the world has hated them because they don’t belong to the world any more than I belong to the world.

Jesus said to them, “You’re from below. I’m from above. You’re from this world. I’m not from this world.

You have lived in luxury and pleasure here on earth. You have fattened yourselves for the day of slaughter.
