They put the advice of oppressed people to shame because the Lord is their refuge.

I call out to you, O Lord. I say, “You are my refuge, my own inheritance in this world of the living.”

Many are saying about me, “Even with God ⌞on his side⌟, he won’t be victorious.” Selah

You important people, how long are you going to insult my honor? How long are you going to love what is empty and seek what is a lie? Selah

But I am oppressed and needy. May the Lord think of me. You are my help and my savior. O my God, do not delay!

With a shattering blow to my bones, my enemies taunt me. They ask me all day long, “Where is your God?”

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble.

The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.

“ ‘You said, “These two nations, Israel and Judah, along with their land, belong to us. We will take possession of them.” But the Lord was there.

When you hear the sound of the rams’ horns, flutes, lyres, harps, and three-stringed harps playing at the same time with all other kinds of instruments, will you bow down and worship the gold statue I made? If you don’t worship it, you will immediately be thrown into a blazing furnace. What god can save you from my power then?”

God did this so that we would be encouraged. God cannot lie when he takes an oath or makes a promise. These two things can never be changed. Those of us who have taken refuge in him hold on to the confidence we have been given.
