Keep your promise to me so that I can fear you.
“So now, God of Israel, may the promise you made to my father David, your servant, come true.
As high as the heavens are above the earth— that is how vast his mercy is toward those who fear him.
As a father has compassion for his children, so the Lord has compassion for those who fear him.
But from everlasting to everlasting, the Lord’s mercy is on those who fear him. His righteousness belongs to their children and grandchildren,
Plead my case ⌞for me⌟, and save me. Give me a new life as you promised.
Remember the word ⌞you gave⌟ me. Through it you gave me hope.
This is my comfort in my misery: Your promise gave me a new life.
Let your mercy comfort me as you promised.
He fills the needs of those who fear him. He hears their cries for help and saves them.
The Lord is pleased with those who fear him, with those who wait with hope for his mercy.
Certainly, Christ made God’s many promises come true. For that reason, because of our message, people also honor God by saying, “Amen!”
