I eat ashes like bread and my tears are mixed with my drink

They will quickly dry up like grass and wither away like green plants.

My soul is discouraged. That is why I will remember you in the land of Jordan, on the peaks of Hermon, on Mount Mizar.

Insults have broken my heart, and I am sick. I looked for sympathy, but there was none. I looked for people to comfort me, but I found no one.

I sigh as I remember God. I begin to lose hope as I think about him. Selah

Grass dries up, and flowers wither when the Lord’s breath blows on them. Yes, people are like grass.

He has shot the arrows from his quiver into my heart.

My soul continues to remember ⌞these things⌟ and is so discouraged.

For three days he couldn’t see and didn’t eat or drink.
