Then my God put the idea into my head that I should gather the nobles, leaders, and people so that they could check their genealogy. I found the book with the genealogy of those who came back the first time. I found the following written in it:

⌞The Lord says,⌟ “I will instruct you. I will teach you the way that you should go. I will advise you as my eyes watch over you.

The righteousness of innocent people makes their road smooth, but wicked people fall by their own wickedness.

Entrust your efforts to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.

A person may plan his own journey, but the Lord directs his steps.

Do not envy sinners in your heart. Instead, continue to fear the Lord.

The path of the righteous is level. O Upright One, you make the road of the righteous smooth.

You will hear a voice behind you saying, “This is the way. Follow it, whether it turns to the right or to the left.”

I prepared Cyrus for my righteous purpose. I will make all his roads straight. He will build my city and let my exiles go free without any payment or any reward, says the Lord of Armies.

This is what the Lord, your Defender, the Holy One of Israel, says: I am the Lord your God. I teach you what is best for you. I lead you where you should go.

O Lord, I know that the way humans act is not under their control. Humans do not direct their steps as they walk.

Let the Lord your God tell us where we should go and what we should do.”

The same thing happened when the smoke stayed only a few days over the tent: At the Lord’s command they would set up camp, and at his command they would break camp.

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything to the glory of God.

I thank God for making Titus as dedicated to you as I am.

Never worry about anything. But in every situation let God know what you need in prayers and requests while giving thanks.

Everything you say or do should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Whatever you do, do it wholeheartedly as though you were working for your real master and not merely for humans.

If any of you needs wisdom to know what you should do, you should ask God, and he will give it to you. God is generous to everyone and doesn’t find fault with them.

Then David asked the Lord, “Should I pursue these troops? Will I catch up with them?” “Pursue them,” the Lord told him. “You will certainly catch up with them and rescue the captives.”
