When a king judges the poor with honesty, his throne will always be secure.

Wrongdoing is disgusting to kings because a throne is established through righteousness.

Mercy and truth protect a king, and with mercy he maintains his throne.

Take a wicked person away from the presence of a king, and justice will make his throne secure.

By means of justice, a king builds up a country, but a person who confiscates religious contributions tears it down.

Learn to do good. Seek justice. Arrest oppressors. Defend orphans. Plead the case of widows.”

He will judge the poor justly. He will make fair decisions for the humble people on earth. He will strike the earth with a rod from his mouth. He will kill the wicked with the breath from his lips.

He defended the cause of the poor and needy. Everything went well for him. Isn’t this what it means to know me?” asks the Lord.

They grow big and fat. Their evil deeds have no limits. They have no respect for the rights of others. They have no respect for the rights of orphans. But they still prosper. They don’t defend the rights of the poor.

“That is why, Your Majesty, my best advice is that you stop sinning, and do what is right. Stop committing the same errors, and have pity on the poor. Maybe you can prolong your prosperity.”
