A righteous person lives on the basis of his integrity. Blessed are his children after he is gone.

I will make my promise to you and your descendants for generations to come as an everlasting promise. I will be your God and the God of your descendants.

A man named Job lived in Uz. He was a man of integrity: He was decent, he feared God, and he stayed away from evil.

His descendants will grow strong on the earth. The family of a decent person will be blessed.

The one who walks with integrity, does what is righteous, and speaks the truth within his heart.

Judge me favorably, O Lord, because I have walked with integrity and I have trusted you without wavering.

But I walk with integrity. Rescue me, and have pity on me.

He is always generous and lends freely. His descendants are a blessing.

Good people leave an inheritance to their grandchildren, but the wealth of sinners is stored away for a righteous person.

Whoever lives right fears the Lord, but a person who is devious in his ways despises him.

In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, and his children will have a place of refuge.

Better to be a poor person who lives innocently than to be one who talks dishonestly and is a fool.

The person who does what is right and speaks the truth will live. He rejects getting rich by extortion and refuses to take bribes. He refuses to listen to those who are plotting murders. He doesn’t look for evil things to do.

I will give them the same attitude and the same purpose so that they will fear me as long as they live. This will be for their own good and for the good of their children.

Zechariah and Elizabeth had God’s approval. They followed all the Lord’s commands and regulations perfectly.

This promise belongs to you and to your children and to everyone who is far away. It belongs to everyone who worships the Lord our God.”

We are proud that our conscience is clear. We are proud of the way that we have lived in this world. We have lived with a God-given holiness  and sincerity, especially toward you. It was not by human wisdom that we have lived but by God’s kindness.
