Whoever has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his good deed.

The Lord will protect him and keep him alive. He will be blessed in the land. Do not place him at the mercy of his enemies.

He will have pity on the poor and needy and will save the lives of the needy.

One person enjoys good things as a result of his speaking ability. Another is paid according to what his hands have accomplished.

Whoever despises his neighbor sins, but blessed is the one who is kind to humble people.

Whoever oppresses the poor insults his maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors him.

Whoever is generous will be blessed because he has shared his food with the poor.

Whoever gives to the poor lacks nothing. Whoever ignores the poor receives many curses.

Whoever becomes wealthy through ⌞unfair⌟ loans and interest collects them for the one who is kind to the poor.

Throw your bread on the surface of the water, because you will find it again after many days.

Divide what you have into seven parts, or even into eight, because you don’t know what disaster may happen on earth.

“The king will answer them, ‘I can guarantee this truth: Whatever you did for one of my brothers or sisters, no matter how unimportant ⌞they seemed⌟, you did for me.’

Give, and you will receive. A large quantity, pressed together, shaken down, and running over will be put into your pocket. The standards you use for others will be applied to you.”

This is what you must do when you’re harvesting wheat in your field. If you forget to bring in one of the bundles of wheat, don’t go back to get it. Leave it there for foreigners, orphans, and widows. Then the Lord your God will bless you in everything you do.

It’s not that I’m looking for a gift. The opposite is true. I’m looking for your resources to increase.

God is fair. He won’t forget what you’ve done or the love you’ve shown for him. You helped his holy people, and you continue to help them.
