The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. Stubborn fools despise wisdom and discipline.

Whoever practices discipline is on the way to life, but whoever ignores a warning strays.

Poverty and shame come to a person who ignores discipline, but whoever pays attention to constructive criticism will be honored.

The mind of a person who has understanding searches for knowledge, but the mouths of fools feed on stupidity.

Stupidity is fun to the one without much sense, but a person who has understanding forges straight ahead.

The ear that listens to a life-giving warning will be at home among wise people.

The fear of the Lord is discipline ⌞leading to⌟ wisdom, and humility comes before honor.

A stubborn fool despises his father’s discipline, but whoever appreciates a warning shows good sense.

Why should a fool have money in his hand to buy wisdom when he doesn’t have a mind to grasp anything?

The mind of a person who has understanding acquires knowledge. The ears of wise people seek knowledge.

Listen to advice and accept discipline so that you may be wise the rest of your life.

A person who will not bend after many warnings will suddenly be broken beyond repair.

It is better to listen to wise people who reprimand you than to fools who sing your praises.

“Why do you still want to be beaten? Why do you continue to rebel? Your whole head is infected. Your whole heart is failing.

The look on their faces will be held against them. They boast about their sins, which are like ⌞those of the people of⌟ Sodom. They don’t even bother to hide them. How horrible it will be for these people, because they have brought disaster on themselves.

Lord, your eyes look for the truth. You strike these people, but they don’t feel it. You crush them, but they refuse to be corrected. They are more stubborn than rocks. They refuse to turn back.

Parents might have a stubborn and rebellious son who doesn’t obey them. Even though they punish him, he still won’t listen to them.

They will say to the leaders of the city, “This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He won’t obey us. He eats too much and is a drunk.”

Make sure that everyone has kindness  from God so that bitterness doesn’t take root and grow up to cause trouble that corrupts many of you.

Do what God’s word says. Don’t merely listen to it, or you will fool yourselves.

I correct and discipline everyone I love. Take this seriously, and change the way you think and act.
