“Never lie when you testify about your neighbor.

⌞The Lord continued,⌟ “Never spread false rumors. Don’t join forces with wicked people by giving false testimony.

A truthful witness speaks honestly, but a lying witness speaks deceitfully.

A righteous person hates lying, but a wicked person behaves with shame and disgrace.

An honest witness saves lives, but one who tells lies is dangerous.

A mocker searches for wisdom without finding it, but knowledge comes easily to a person who has understanding.

A lying witness will not go unpunished. One who tells lies will not escape.

a dishonest witness spitting out lies, and a person who spreads conflict among relatives.

This is what you must do whenever a witness takes the stand to accuse a person falsely of a crime.
