Hard-working hands gain control, but lazy hands do slave labor.

When he sees that his resting place is good and that the land is pleasant, he will bend his back to the burden and will become a slave laborer.

Solomon saw that Jeroboam was a very able and hardworking man. So he put Jeroboam in charge of all forced labor from the tribes of Joseph.

When all Israel heard that Jeroboam had returned, they sent men to invite him to the assembly. They made him king of all Israel. Only the tribe of Judah remained loyal to David’s dynasty.

but they had descendants who were still in the land. Solomon drafted them for slave labor. (They are still ⌞slaves⌟ today.)

Lazy hands bring poverty, but hard-working hands bring riches.

A lazy hunter does not catch his prey, but a hard-working person becomes wealthy.

A lazy person craves food and there is none, but the appetite of hard-working people is satisfied.

A wise slave will become master over a son who acts shamefully, and he will share the inheritance with the brothers.

Laziness throws one into a deep sleep, and an idle person will go hungry.

A lazy person says, “There’s a lion outside! I’ll be murdered in the streets!”

Do you see a person who is efficient in his work? He will serve kings. He will not serve unknown people.

When the Israelites were strong enough, they made the Canaanites do forced labor. But they did not force all of them out.
