You have heard the desire of oppressed people, O Lord. You encourage them. You pay close attention to them

I wholeheartedly searched for you. Do not let me wander away from your commandments.

I pray that my ways may become firmly established so that I can obey your laws.

I have asked one thing from the Lord. This I will seek: to remain in the Lord’s house all the days of my life in order to gaze at the Lord’s beauty and to search for an answer in his temple.

Be happy with the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

The hope of righteous people ⌞leads to⌟ joy, but the eager waiting of wicked people comes to nothing.

One person spends freely and yet grows richer, while another holds back what he owes and yet grows poorer.

At the death of a wicked person, hope vanishes. Moreover, his confidence in strength vanishes.

The thoughts of righteous people are fair. The advice of wicked people is treacherous.

A person eats well as a result of his speaking ability, but the appetite of treacherous people ⌞craves⌟ violence.

With my soul I long for you at night. Yes, with my spirit I eagerly look for you. When your guiding principles are on earth, those who live in the world learn to do what is right.

I have not run away from being your shepherd, and I have not longed for the day of destruction. You know what came out of my mouth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for God’s approval. They will be satisfied.

All that is left is a terrifying wait for judgment and a raging fire that will consume God’s enemies.
