When Abram was 99 years old, the Lord appeared to him. He said to Abram, “I am God Almighty. Live in my presence with integrity.

“Certainly, God does not reject a person of integrity or give a helping hand to wicked people.

Even though I walk through the dark valley of death, because you are with me, I fear no harm. Your rod and your staff give me courage.

Integrity and honesty will protect me because I wait for you.

The Lord God is a sun and shield. The Lord grants favor and honor. He does not hold back any blessing from those who live innocently.

A twisted mind never finds happiness, and one with a devious tongue ⌞repeatedly⌟ gets into trouble.

His hatred is deceitfully hidden, but his wickedness will be revealed to the community.

A wicked person flees when no one is chasing him, but righteous people are as bold as lions.

Whoever lives honestly will be safe. Whoever lives dishonestly will fall all at once.

Then you will go safely on your way, and you will not hurt your foot.

So don’t be afraid of them. Nothing has been covered that will not be exposed. Whatever is secret will be made known.

Therefore, don’t judge anything before the appointed time. Wait until the Lord comes. He will also bring to light what is hidden in the dark and reveal people’s motives. Then each person will receive praise from God.

In the same way, the good things that people do are obvious, and those that aren’t obvious can’t remain hidden.
