The name of a righteous person remains blessed, but the names of wicked people will rot away.

I will give his son one tribe so that my servant David will always have a lamp in my presence in Jerusalem, the city where I chose to place my name.

Hezekiah lay down in death with his ancestors. He was buried in the upper tombs of David’s descendants. When Hezekiah died, all of Judah and the people in Jerusalem honored him. His son Manasseh succeeded him as king.

All memory about him will vanish from the earth, and his reputation will not be known on the street corner.

The womb forgets them. Worms feast on them. No one remembers them anymore, and wickedness is snapped like a twig.

It claps its hands over him. It whistles at him from his own place.

Let his descendants be cut off and their family name be wiped out by the next generation.

Let their guilt and sin always remain on record in front of the Lord. Let the Lord remove every memory of him  from the earth,

He will never fail. A righteous person will always be remembered.

The Lord confronts those who do evil in order to wipe out all memory of them from the earth.

⌞Righteous people⌟ cry out. The Lord hears and rescues them from all their troubles.

My enemies say terrible things about me: “When will he die, and when will his family name disappear?”

A good name is more desirable than great wealth. Respect is better than silver or gold.

Then I saw wicked people given an ⌞honorable⌟ burial. They used to go in and out of the holy place. They were praised in the city for doing such things. Even this is pointless.

“I’ll rise up against them,” declares the Lord of Armies. “I’ll cut off the name of the survivors from Babylon, its offspring and descendants,” declares the Lord.

O Lord, the Hope of Israel, all who abandon you will be put to shame. Those who turn away from you will be written in dust, because they abandon the Lord, the fountain of life-giving water.

I can guarantee this truth: Wherever the Good News is spoken in the world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her.”
