Dogs have surrounded me. A mob has encircled me. They have pierced my hands and feet.

The fear of the Lord is discipline ⌞leading to⌟ wisdom, and humility comes before honor.

However, I want the world to know that I love the Father and that I am doing exactly what the Father has commanded me to do. Get up! We have to leave.”

If you obey my commandments, you will live in my love. I have obeyed my Father’s commandments, and in that way I live in his love.

When he humbled himself, he was not judged fairly. Who from his generation will talk about his life on earth being cut short?”

Clearly, through one person’s disobedience humanity became sinful, and through one person’s obedience humanity will receive God’s approval.

You know about the kindness of our Lord Jesus Christ. He was rich, yet for your sake he became poor in order to make you rich through his poverty.

Christ paid the price to free us from the curse that the laws in Moses’ Teachings bring by becoming cursed instead of us. Scripture says, “Everyone who is hung on a tree is cursed.”

He gave himself for us to set us free from every sin and to cleanse us so that we can be his special people who are enthusiastic about doing good things.

We must focus on Jesus, the source and goal of our faith. He saw the joy ahead of him, so he endured death on the cross and ignored the disgrace it brought him. Now he holds the honored position—the one next to God the Father on the heavenly throne.

You struggle against sin, but your struggles haven’t killed you.

Christ carried our sins in his body on the cross so that freed from our sins, we could live a life that has God’s approval. His wounds have healed you.

This is true because Christ suffered for our sins once. He was an innocent person, but he suffered for guilty people so that he could bring you to God. His body was put to death, but he was brought to life through his spirit.
