He named that place Massah [Testing] and Meribah [Complaining] because the Israelites complained and because they tested the Lord, asking, “Is the Lord with us or not?”

So the men explored the land from the Desert of Zin to the border of Hamath.

I’m going to die in this land and not cross the Jordan River, but you’re going to go across and take possession of that good land.
