How can I curse those whom God hasn’t cursed? How can I condemn those whom the Lord hasn’t condemned?

Like a fluttering sparrow, like a darting swallow, so a hastily spoken curse does not come to rest.

I cause the signs of false prophets to fail and make fools of fortunetellers. I make wise men retreat and turn their knowledge into foolishness.

But God said to Balaam, “Don’t go with them! Don’t curse these people, because they are blessed.”

Please come and curse these people for me, because they are too strong for me. Maybe then I’ll be able to defeat them and force them out of the country. I know that whomever you bless is blessed and whomever you curse is cursed.”
