They weren’t thirsty when he led them through the deserts. He made water flow from a rock for them. He split a rock, and water gushed out.

He was the one who led you through that vast and dangerous desert—a thirsty and arid land, with poisonous snakes and scorpions. He was the one who made water come out of solid rock for you.

An angry person doesn’t do what God approves of.

So God split open the hollow place at Lehi, and water gushed out. Samson drank some water. Then he was refreshed and revived. So he called the place En Hakkore [Spring of the One Who Calls Out]. It is still there at Lehi today.

Why didn’t you obey the Lord? Why have you taken their belongings and done what the Lord considers evil?”

Then Saul told Samuel, “I have sinned by not following the Lord’s command or your instructions. I was afraid of the people and listened to them.
