“Whoever touches the dead body of any human being will be unclean for seven days.

Run away! Run away! Get away from there! Do not touch anything unclean. Get away from it! Make yourselves pure, you Levites who carry the utensils for the Lord’s temple.

My people staggered blindly through the streets. They were so contaminated with bloodstains that no one would touch their clothes.

The people of Israel will be burying them there for seven months to make the land clean.

After a priest is made clean, he must wait seven days.

Among all the swarming creatures that move on the ground, these are unclean for you. Whoever touches their dead bodies will be unclean until evening.

The Lord spoke to Moses, “Tell the priests, Aaron’s sons: None of you should become unclean by touching one of your relatives who has died.

He must never go near any dead bodies or become unclean, even for his father or mother.

“No descendant of Aaron who has a skin disease or a discharge may eat any of the holy offerings until he is clean. Any person who has an emission of semen or touches a dead body,

“If you touch anything unclean  —the unclean dead body of a wild or tame animal or the body of an unclean, swarming creature—and then ignore what you did, you are unclean and will be guilty.

Haggai asked, “Suppose a person becomes unclean  by touching a corpse. If he touches any of these things, does that make them unclean?” The priests answered, “That makes them unclean.”

“Whoever is outdoors and touches someone who was killed or has died naturally or anyone who touches a human bone or a grave will be unclean for seven days.

“Everyone who killed a person or touched a dead body must stay outside the camp seven days. You and your prisoners of war must use the ritual water on the third and seventh days in order to take away your sin.

“Command the Israelites to send outside the camp anyone who has a serious skin disease or a discharge or anyone who is unclean  from touching a dead body.

While they are dedicated to the Lord as Nazirites, they must never go near a dead body.

Suppose you or any of your descendants is unclean from touching a dead body or is away on a long trip. You may still celebrate the Passover.

But there were some men who had become unclean  from touching a dead body, and they couldn’t celebrate the Passover that day. They came to Moses and Aaron

The next day, Paul took the men and went through the purification ceremony with them. Then he went into the temple courtyard to announce the time when the purification would be over and the sacrifice would be offered for each of them.

When the seven days were almost over, the Jews from the province of Asia saw Paul in the temple courtyard. They stirred up the whole crowd and grabbed Paul.

Sin came into the world through one person, and death came through sin. So death spread to everyone, because everyone sinned.

The Lord says, “Get away from unbelievers. Separate yourselves from them. Have nothing to do with anything unclean. Then I will welcome you.”

You were once dead because of your failures and sins.

The blood of Christ, who had no defect, does even more. Through the eternal Spirit he offered himself to God and cleansed our consciences from the useless things we had done. Now we can serve the living God.
