The Lord said to Moses,
“Why has Your Majesty come to me?” Araunah asked. David answered, “To buy the threshing floor from you and to build an altar for the Lord. Then the plague on the people will stop.”
But he is compassionate. He forgave their sin. He did not destroy them. He restrained his anger many times. He did not display all of his fury.
Then Moses and Aaron went to the front of the tent of meeting.
“Get away from these people, and let me destroy them in an instant!” Immediately, they bowed with their faces touching the ground.
