The Lord is good. ⌞He is⌟ a fortress in the day of trouble. He knows those who seek shelter in him.

The Lord will answer you in times of trouble. The name of the God of Jacob will protect you.

The Lord is good and decent. That is why he teaches sinners the way they should live.

He hides me in his shelter when there is trouble. He keeps me hidden in his tent. He sets me high on a rock.

The victory for righteous people comes from the Lord. He is their fortress in times of trouble.

The Lord helps them and rescues them. He rescues them from wicked people. He saves them because they have taken refuge in him.

That is why we are not afraid even when the earth quakes or the mountains topple into the depths of the sea.

Call on me in times of trouble. I will rescue you, and you will honor me.”

But I will sing about your strength. In the morning I will joyfully sing about your mercy. You have been my stronghold and a place of safety in times of trouble.

Be a rock on which I may live, a place where I may always go. You gave the order to save me! Indeed, you are my rock and my fortress.

When I am in trouble, I call out to you because you answer me.

Those who know your name trust you, O Lord, because you have never deserted those who seek your help.

When you call to me, I will answer you. I will be with you when you are in trouble. I will save you and honor you.

The name of the Lord is a strong tower. A righteous person runs to it and is safe.

You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the rain, and shade from the heat. (A tyrant’s breath is like a rainstorm against a wall,

Then each ruler will be like a shelter from the wind and a hiding place from the rain. They will be like streams on parched ground and the shade of a large rock in a weary land.

Who among you fears the Lord and obeys his servant? Let those who walk in darkness and have no light trust the name of the Lord and depend upon their God.

The Lord is my strength and my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble. Nations come to you from the most distant parts of the world and say, “Our ancestors have inherited lies, worthless and unprofitable gods.”

Do not terrorize me. You are my refuge on the day of disaster.

Look at how kind and how severe God can be. He is severe to those who fell, but kind to you if you continue to hold on to his kindness. Otherwise, you, too, will be cut off ⌞from the tree⌟.

But now you know God, or rather, God knows you. So how can you turn back again to the powerless and bankrupt principles of this world? Why do you want to become their slaves all over again?

In spite of all that, God’s ⌞people⌟ have a solid foundation. These words are engraved on it: “The Lord knows those who belong to him,” and “Whoever worships the Lord must give up doing wrong.”
