“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, lie, and say all kinds of evil things about you because of me.

If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed because the Spirit of glory—the Spirit of God—is resting on you.

Everyone will hate you because you are committed to me.

The person who tries to preserve his life will lose it, but the person who loses his life for me will preserve it.

You have endured, suffered trouble because of my name, and have not grown weary.

And everyone who gave up homes, brothers or sisters, father, mother, children, or fields because of my name will receive a hundred times more and will inherit eternal life.

While we are alive, we are constantly handed over to death for Jesus’ sake so that the life of Jesus is also shown in our mortal nature.

We have given up our wisdom for Christ, but you have insight because of Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are honored, but we are dishonored.

As Scripture says: “We are being killed all day long because of you. We are thought of as sheep to be slaughtered.”

“Before all these things happen, people will arrest and persecute you. They will hand you over to their synagogues and put you into their prisons. They will drag you in front of kings and governors because of my name.

Those who want to save their lives will lose them. But those who lose their lives for me will save them.

Those who want to save their lives will lose them. But those who lose their lives for me and for the Good News will save them.

It is enough for a student to become like his teacher and a slave like his owner. If they have called the owner of the house Beelzebul, they will certainly call the family members the same name.

Malicious people bring charges against me. They ask me things I know nothing about.

He will swallow up death forever. The Almighty Lord will wipe away tears from every face, and he will remove the disgrace of his people from the whole earth. The Lord has spoken.

Listen to me, you people who know righteousness, you people who have my teachings in your hearts. Don’t be afraid of being insulted by people. Don’t be discouraged by their ridicule.

God has given you the privilege not only to believe in Christ but also to suffer for him.
