Whoever trusts his own heart is a fool. Whoever walks in wisdom will survive.

Peter followed at a distance until he came to the chief priest’s courtyard. He went inside and sat with the guards to see how this would turn out.

Peter was sitting in the courtyard. A female servant came to him and said, “You, too, were with Jesus the Galilean.”

As he went to the entrance, another female servant saw him. She told those who were there, “This man was with Jesus from Nazareth.”

But Peter denied it by saying, “I don’t know him, woman.”

That’s right! They were broken off because they didn’t believe, but you remain on the tree because you do believe. Don’t feel arrogant, but be afraid.

So, people who think they are standing firmly should be careful that they don’t fall.

But cowardly, unfaithful, and detestable people, murderers, sexual sinners, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars will find themselves in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”
