The foolish bridesmaids took their lamps, but they didn’t take any extra oil.

She sees that she is making a good profit. Her lamp burns late at night.

They look for me every day and want to know my ways. They act as if they were a nation that has done what is right and as if they haven’t disregarded God’s judgment ⌞on them⌟. They ask me for just decrees. They want God to be near them.

If he sees the enemy coming to attack the country, he will blow his horn to warn the people.

“When the end comes, the kingdom of heaven will be like ten bridesmaids. They took their oil lamps and went to meet the groom.

Five of them were foolish, and five were wise.

The wise bridesmaids, however, took along extra oil for their lamps.

They will appear to have a godly life, but they will not let its power change them. Stay away from such people.

Make sure that everyone has kindness  from God so that bitterness doesn’t take root and grow up to cause trouble that corrupts many of you.

“To the messenger of the church in Sardis, write: The one who has God’s seven spirits and the seven stars says: I know what you have done. You are known for being alive, but you are dead.
