“Certainly,” he answered. Peter went into the house. Before he could speak, Jesus asked him, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the world collect fees or taxes? Is it from their family members or from other people?”

But when that servant went away, he found a servant who owed him hundreds of dollars. He grabbed the servant he found and began to choke him. ‘Pay what you owe!’ he said.

After agreeing to pay the workers the usual day’s wages, he sent them to work in his vineyard.

Jesus recognized their evil plan, so he asked, “Why do you test me, you hypocrites?

He said to them, “Whose face and name is this?”

They brought a coin. He said to them, “Whose face and name is this?” They told him, “The emperor’s.”

I heard what sounded like a voice from among the four living creatures, saying, “A quart of wheat for a day’s pay or three quarts of barley for a day’s pay. But do not damage the olive oil and the wine.”
