Peter answered, “Lord, if it is you, order me to come to you on the water.”
Immediately, Jesus said, “Calm down! It’s me. Don’t be afraid!”
Jesus said, “Come!” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.
Then Peter replied to him, “Look, we’ve given up everything to follow you. What will we get out of it?”
But Peter said very strongly, “Even if I have to die with you, I will never say that I don’t know you.” All the other disciples said the same thing.
Simon Peter answered Jesus, “Lord, to what person could we go? Your words give eternal life.
Because of the kindness that God has shown me, I ask you not to think of yourselves more highly than you should. Instead, your thoughts should lead you to use good judgment based on what God has given each of you as believers.
When you ask for something, don’t have any doubts. A person who has doubts is like a wave that is blown by the wind and tossed by the sea.
