I will look for those that are lost, bring back those that have strayed away, bandage those that are injured, and strengthen those that are sick. I will destroy those that are fat and strong. I will take care of my sheep fairly.

He is the healer of the brokenhearted. He is the one who bandages their wounds.

Then I looked, and there was a white horse, and its rider had a bow. He was given a crown and rode off as a warrior to win battles.

So now forgive and comfort him. Such distress could overwhelm someone like that if he’s not forgiven and comforted.

The High and Lofty One lives forever, and his name is holy. This is what he says: I live in a high and holy place. But I am with those who are crushed and humble. I will renew the spirit of those who are humble and the courage of those who are crushed.

The sacrifice pleasing to God is a broken spirit. O God, you do not despise a broken and sorrowful heart.

Now, look! When you trust Egypt, you’re trusting a broken stick for a staff. If you lean on it, it stabs your hand and goes through it. This is what Pharaoh (the king of Egypt) is like for everyone who trusts him.

“Come to me, all who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest.

Like a shepherd he takes care of his flock. He gathers the lambs in his arms. He carries them in his arms. He gently helps the sheep and their lambs.

But I thank God, who always leads us in victory because of Christ. Wherever we go, God uses us to make clear what it means to know Christ. It’s like a fragrance that fills the air.

As they were leaving, Jesus spoke to the crowds about John. “What did you go into the desert to see? Tall grass swaying in the wind?

When Moses heard this, he was satisfied.
