Matthew 11:5

God's Word

Blind people see again, lame people are walking, those with skin diseases are made clean, deaf people hear again, dead people are brought back to life, and poor people hear the Good News.

So he went to dip himself in the Jordan River seven times, as the man of God had instructed him. His skin became healthy again like a little child’s skin.

When the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his clothes ⌞in distress⌟. He asked, “Am I God? Can I kill someone and then bring him back to life? This man sends someone to me so that I can cure his skin disease! All of you should realize and understand that he’s trying to pick a fight with me.”

The Lord gives sight to blind people. The Lord straightens ⌞the backs⌟ of those who are bent over. The Lord loves righteous people.

Oppressed people will eat until they are full. Those who look to the Lord will praise him. May you live forever.

The Lord asked him, “Who gave humans their mouths? Who makes humans unable to talk or hear? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? It is I, the Lord!

When that day comes, the deaf will hear the words written in the book. The blind will see out of their gloom and darkness.

Humble people again will find joy in the Lord. The poorest of people will find joy in the Holy One of Israel.

Bring the people who are blind but still have eyes, the people who are deaf but still have ears.

I have made all these things. “That is why all these things have come into being,” declares the Lord. I will pay attention to those who are humble and sorry ⌞for their sins⌟ and who tremble at my word.

So I became the shepherd of the sheep that were to be slaughtered and also of the oppressed sheep. I took two shepherd staffs and named one Favor and the other Unity. And I took care of the sheep.

Cure the sick, bring the dead back to life, cleanse those with skin diseases, and force demons out of people. Give these things without charging, since you received them without paying.

Jesus answered John’s disciples, “Go back, and tell John what you hear and see:

Then he said to the man, “Hold out your hand.” The man held it out, and it became normal again, as healthy as the other.

Blind and lame people came to him in the temple courtyard, and he healed them.

“Blessed are those who recognize they are spiritually helpless. The kingdom of heaven belongs to them.

Then they could see. He warned them, “Don’t let anyone know about this!”

Jesus completely amazed the people. They said, “He has done everything well. He makes the deaf hear and the mute talk.”

When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he gave an order to the evil spirit. He said, “You spirit that won’t let him talk, I command you to come out of him and never enter him again.”

“The Spirit of the Lord is with me. He has anointed me to tell the Good News to the poor. He has sent me to announce forgiveness to the prisoners of sin and the restoring of sight to the blind, to forgive those who have been shattered by sin,

Jesus answered them, “I’ve told you, but you don’t believe me. The things that I do in my Father’s name testify on my behalf.

But if I’m doing those things and you refuse to believe me, then at least believe the things that I’m doing. Then you will know and recognize that the Father is in me and that I am in the Father.”

While Jesus was in Jerusalem at the Passover festival, many people believed in him because they saw the miracles that he performed.

He came to Jesus one night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that God has sent you as a teacher. No one can perform the miracles you perform unless God is with him.”

But I have something that testifies more favorably on my behalf than John’s testimony. The tasks that the Father gave me to carry out, these tasks which I perform, testify on my behalf. They prove that the Father has sent me.

and told him, “Wash it off in the pool of Siloam.” (Siloam means “sent.”) The blind man washed it off and returned. He was able to see.

“Men of Israel, listen to what I say: Jesus from Nazareth was a man whom God brought to your attention. You know that through this man God worked miracles, did amazing things, and gave signs.

Listen, my dear brothers and sisters! Didn’t God choose poor people in the world to become rich in faith and to receive the kingdom that he promised to those who love him?
