Matthew 11:1

God's Word

After Jesus finished giving his twelve disciples these instructions, he moved on from there to teach his message in their cities.

Teach them to do everything I have commanded you. “And remember that I am always with you until the end of time.”

Jesus went all over Galilee. He taught in the synagogues and spread the Good News of the kingdom. He also cured every disease and sickness among the people.

When Jesus finished this speech, the crowds were amazed at his teachings.

So the apostles went and told people that they should turn to God and change the way they think and act.

After this, Jesus traveled from one city and village to another. He spread the Good News about God’s kingdom. The twelve apostles were with him.

If you obey my commandments, you will live in my love. I have obeyed my Father’s commandments, and in that way I live in his love.

You are my friends if you obey my commandments.

until the day he was taken to heaven. Before he was taken to heaven, he gave instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles, whom he had chosen.

You know that God anointed Jesus from Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Jesus went everywhere and did good things, such as healing everyone who was under the devil’s power. Jesus did these things because God was with him.

He ordered us to warn the people, ‘God has appointed Jesus to judge the living and the dead.’

You know what orders we gave you through the Lord Jesus.

While we were with you, we gave you the order: “Whoever doesn’t want to work shouldn’t be allowed to eat.”

Brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ we order you not to associate with any believer who doesn’t live a disciplined life and doesn’t follow the tradition you received from us.

I insist that, until our Lord Jesus Christ appears, you obey this command completely. Then you cannot be blamed for doing anything wrong.
