So his brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept thinking about these things.

Peter took him aside and objected to this. He said, “Heaven forbid, Lord! This must never happen to you!”

So they asked him, “Don’t the experts in Moses’ Teachings say that Elijah must come first?”

The disciples didn’t understand what he meant and were afraid to ask him.

On their way down the mountain, Jesus ordered them not to tell anyone what they had seen. They were to wait until the Son of Man had come back to life.

At first Jesus’ disciples didn’t know what these prophecies meant. However, when Jesus was glorified, the disciples remembered that these prophecies had been written about him. The disciples remembered that they had taken part in fulfilling the prophecies.

Some Epicurean and Stoic philosophers had discussions with him. Some asked, “What is this babbling fool trying to say?” Others said, “He seems to be speaking about foreign gods.” The philosophers said these things because Paul was telling the Good News about Jesus and saying that people would come back to life.
