There was a man named Barabbas in prison. He was with some rebels who had committed murder during a riot.
At that time there was a well-known prisoner by the name of Barabbas.
At every Passover festival, Pilate would free one prisoner whom the people asked for.
The crowd asked Pilate to do for them what he always did.
He freed Barabbas, who had been put in prison for rioting and murdering, because that’s what they wanted. But he let them do what they wanted to Jesus.
