Jesus called the apostles and said, “You know that the acknowledged rulers of nations have absolute power over people and their officials have absolute authority over people.

Then a quarrel broke out among the disciples. They argued about who should be considered the greatest.

Jesus said to them, “The kings of nations have power over their people, and those in authority call themselves friends of the people.

Be devoted to each other like a loving family. Excel in showing respect for each other.

Don’t act out of selfish ambition or be conceited. Instead, humbly think of others as being better than yourselves.

Do you think this passage means nothing? It says, “The Spirit that lives in us wants us to be his own.”
