Mark 10:1

God's Word

Jesus left there and went into the territory of Judea along the other side of the Jordan River. Crowds gathered around him again, and he taught them as he usually did.

Besides being wise, the spokesman also taught the people what he knew. He very carefully thought about it, studied it, and arranged it in many proverbs.

have turned their backs, not their faces to me. I taught them again and again, but they refused to listen and learn.

At that time Jesus said to the crowd, “Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest me as if I were a criminal? I used to sit teaching in the temple courtyard every day. But you didn’t arrest me then.

Jesus went all over Galilee. He taught in the synagogues and spread the Good News of the kingdom. He also cured every disease and sickness among the people.

Then they went to Capernaum. On the next day of rest—a holy day, Jesus went into the synagogue and began to teach.

Some Pharisees came to test him. They asked, “Can a husband divorce his wife?”

While Jesus was teaching in the temple courtyard, he asked, “How can the experts in Moses’ Teachings say that the Messiah is David’s son?

I used to teach in the temple courtyard every day. But you didn’t arrest me then. But what the Scriptures say must come true.”

Jesus went to the seashore again. Large crowds came to him, and he taught them.

He used stories as illustrations to teach them many things. While he was teaching them, he said,

When the day of rest—a holy day, came, he began to teach in the synagogue. He amazed many who heard him. They asked, “Where did this man get these ideas? Who gave him this kind of wisdom and the ability to do such great miracles?

When Jesus got out of the boat, he saw a large crowd and felt sorry for them. They were like sheep without a shepherd. So he spent a lot of time teaching them.

Their unbelief amazed him. Then Jesus went around to the villages and taught.

He went back across the Jordan River and stayed in the place where John first baptized people.

Then, after the two days, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s go back to Judea.”

Jesus answered him, “I have spoken publicly for everyone to hear. I have always taught in synagogues or in the temple courtyard, where all the Jews gather. I haven’t said anything in secret.
