“I, the Lord, never change. That is why you descendants of Jacob haven’t been destroyed yet.

At that time the Lord made a promise  to Abram. He said, “I will give this land to your descendants. This is the land from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates.

Then the Lord said to him, “I am the Lord, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land so that you will take possession of it.”

and said, “I am taking an oath on my own name, declares the Lord, that because you have done this and have not refused to give me your son, your only son,

They will come to an end, but you will still go on. They will all wear out like clothing. You will change them like clothes, and they will be thrown away.

But you remain the same, and your life will never end.

The children of your servants will go on living ⌞here⌟. Their descendants will be secure in your presence.”

But from everlasting to everlasting, the Lord’s mercy is on those who fear him. His righteousness belongs to their children and grandchildren,

But he is compassionate. He forgave their sin. He did not destroy them. He restrained his anger many times. He did not display all of his fury.

They were disloyal and treacherous like their ancestors. They were like arrows shot from a defective bow.

I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand and say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid; I will help you.’

The Lord is Israel’s king and defender. He is the Lord of Armies. This is what the Lord says: I am the first and the last, and there is no God except me.

Even when you’re old, I’ll take care of you. Even when your hair turns gray, I’ll support you. I made you and will continue to care for you. I’ll support you and save you.

“I am the Lord God of all humanity. Nothing is too hard for me.

I decree that in every part of my kingdom people should tremble with terror in front of Daniel’s God, the living God who continues forever. His kingdom will never be destroyed. His power lasts to the end ⌞of time⌟.

I will not act on my burning anger. I will not destroy Ephraim again. I am God, not a human. I am the Holy One among you, and I will not come to you in anger.

Didn’t you exist before time began, O Lord, my God, my Holy One? We will not die! O Lord, you have appointed the Babylonians to bring judgment. O Rock, you have destined them to correct us.

God is not like people. He tells no lies. He is not like humans. He doesn’t change his mind. When he says something, he does it. When he makes a promise, he keeps it.

If the death of his Son restored our relationship with God while we were still his enemies, we are even more certain that, because of this restored relationship, the life of his Son will save us.

I’m convinced that God, who began this good work in you, will carry it through to completion on the day of Christ Jesus.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

God did this so that we would be encouraged. God cannot lie when he takes an oath or makes a promise. These two things can never be changed. Those of us who have taken refuge in him hold on to the confidence we have been given.

Every good present and every perfect gift comes from above, from the Father who made the sun, moon, and stars. The Father doesn’t change like the shifting shadows produced by the sun and the moon.

“I am the A and the Z,”  says the Lord God, the one who is, the one who was, and the one who is coming, the Almighty.

I am the A and the Z, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.

In addition, the Glory of Israel does not lie or change his mind, because he is not a mortal who changes his mind.”
