Jesus went into the house. He allowed no one to go with him except Peter, John, James, and the child’s parents.
He went into the room, closed the door, and prayed to the Lord.
He will not cry out or raise ⌞his voice⌟. He will not make his voice heard in the streets.
He took Peter, James, and John with him and began to feel distressed and anguished.
They were Simon (whom Jesus named Peter) and Simon’s brother Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew,
When Jesus heard this, he told the synagogue leader, “Don’t be afraid! Just believe, and she will get well.”
Everyone was crying and showing how sad they were. Jesus said, “Don’t cry! She’s not dead. She’s just sleeping.”
About eight days after he had said this, Jesus took Peter, John, and James with him and went up a mountain to pray.
Peter made everyone leave the room. He knelt and prayed. Then he turned toward the body and said, “Tabitha, get up!” Tabitha opened her eyes, saw Peter, and sat up.
