“A farmer went to plant his seeds. Some seeds were planted along the road, were trampled, and were devoured by birds.

When birds of prey came down upon the carcasses, Abram drove them away.

You reject all who wander away from your laws, because their lies mislead them.

He answered, “The one who plants the good seeds is the Son of Man.

“You are salt for the earth. But if salt loses its taste, how will it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled on by people.

Some people are like seeds that were planted along the road. Whenever they hear the word, Satan comes at once and takes away the word that was planted in them.

When a large crowd had gathered and people had come to Jesus from every city, he used this story as an illustration:

Others were planted on rocky soil. When the plants came up, they withered because they had no moisture.

For this reason we must pay closer attention to what we have heard. Then we won’t drift away ⌞from the truth⌟.
