Jacob’s Well was there. Jesus sat down by the well because he was tired from traveling. The time was about noon.

Once again I threw myself down in front of the Lord. I went without food and water for 40 days and 40 nights because of the sin you committed. You did what the Lord considered evil and made him furious.

Because Jesus experienced temptation when he suffered, he is able to help others when they are tempted.

We have a chief priest who is able to sympathize with our weaknesses. He was tempted in every way that we are, but he didn’t sin.

Each morning and evening for 40 days, the Philistine came forward and made his challenge.
