Luke 24:41

God's Word

The disciples were overcome with joy and amazement because this seemed too good to be true. Then Jesus asked them, “Do you have anything to eat?”

Jesus asked them, “Friends, haven’t you caught any fish?” They answered him, “No, we haven’t.”

“Now you’re in a painful situation. But I will see you again. Then you will be happy, and no one will take that happiness away from you.

If I cried out and he answered me, I do not believe that he would listen to me.

They didn’t believe her when they heard that he was alive and that she had seen him.

They went back and told the others, who did not believe them either.

Still later Jesus appeared to the eleven apostles while they were eating. He put them to shame for their unbelief and because they were too stubborn to believe those who had seen him alive.

The apostles thought that the women’s story didn’t make any sense, and they didn’t believe them.

As he said this, he showed them his hands and feet.

They gave him a piece of broiled fish.

When she recognized Peter’s voice, she was so happy that instead of opening the door, she ran back inside and reported, “Peter is standing at the door!”

They also had a few small fish. He blessed them and said that the fish should also be served to the people.
