A scepter will never depart from Judah nor a ruler’s staff from between his feet until Shiloh comes and the people obey him.

Kings take their stands. Rulers make plans together against the Lord and against his Messiah  by saying,

A child will be born for us. A son will be given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. He will be named: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Jacob was the father of Joseph, who was the husband of Mary. Mary was the mother of Jesus, who is called Christ.

Then he strictly ordered the disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah.

I feel blessed that the mother of my Lord is visiting me.

He has raised up a mighty Savior for us in the family of his servant David.

and had told him that he wouldn’t die until he had seen the Messiah, whom the Lord would send.

So Joseph went from Nazareth, a city in Galilee, to a Judean city called Bethlehem. Joseph, a descendant of King David, went to Bethlehem because David had been born there.

Andrew at once found his brother Simon and told him, “We have found the Messiah” (which means “Christ”).

Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the man whom Moses wrote about in his teachings and whom the prophets wrote about. He is Jesus, son of Joseph, from the city of Nazareth.”

Martha said to him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, the one who was expected to come into the world.”

But these miracles have been written so that you will believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and so that you will have life by believing in him.

The woman said to him, “I know that the Messiah is coming. When he comes, he will tell us everything.” (Messiah is the one called Christ.)

They told the woman, “Our faith is no longer based on what you’ve said. We have heard him ourselves, and we know that he really is the savior of the world.”

Besides, we believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.”

Other people said, “This man is the Messiah.” Still other people asked, “How can the Messiah come from Galilee?

God sent his word to the people of Israel and brought them the Good News of peace through Jesus Christ. This Jesus Christ is everyone’s Lord.

“God had the Savior, Jesus, come to Israel from David’s descendants, as he had promised.

He explained and showed them that the Messiah had to suffer, die, and come back to life, and that Jesus, the person he talked about, was this Messiah.

“All the people of Israel should know beyond a doubt that God made Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”

God used his power to give Jesus the honored position—the one next to him on the heavenly throne as leader and savior. He did this to lead the people of Israel to him, to change the way they think and act, and to forgive their sins.

The first man was made from the dust of the earth. He came from the earth. The second man came from heaven.

and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

It’s far more than that! I consider everything else worthless because I’m much better off knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. It’s because of him that I think of everything as worthless. I threw it all away in order to gain Christ

You received Christ Jesus the Lord, so continue to live as Christ’s people.

We have seen and testify to the fact that the Father sent his Son as the Savior of the world.

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Messiah has been born from God. Everyone who loves the Father also loves his children.
