I planted you like a choice grapevine from the very best seed. Now you have turned against me and have become a wild vine.

“ ‘I would have gathered their harvest,’ ” declares the Lord, “ ‘but there are no grapes on the vine. There are no figs on the tree, and the leaves have dried up. What I have given them will be taken away.’ ”

No! I can guarantee that they weren’t. But if you don’t turn to God and change the way you think and act, then you, too, will all die.”

But the fig tree responded, ‘Should I stop producing my good, sweet fruit in order to rule the trees?’
