and said to him, “Everyone serves the best wine first. When people are drunk, the host serves cheap wine. But you have saved the best wine for now.”

In those days I will pour my Spirit on my servants, on both men and women. They will speak what God has revealed.

People like these are not serving Christ our Lord. They are serving their own desires. By their smooth talk and flattering words they deceive unsuspecting people.

When someone makes you slaves, consumes your wealth, seizes your property, orders you around, or slaps your faces, you put up with it.

Enjoy yourselves in the presence of the Lord your God along with your sons, daughters, male and female slaves, and the Levites. (The Levites live in your cities because they have no land of their own as you have.)

People who sleep, sleep at night; people who get drunk, get drunk at night.

and lose what their wrongdoing earned them. These false teachers are stains and blemishes. They take pleasure in holding wild parties in broad daylight. They especially enjoy deceiving you while they eat with you.

They promise these people freedom, but they themselves are slaves to corruption. A person is a slave to whatever he gives in to.

You have given them blood to drink because they have poured out the blood of God’s people and prophets. This is what they deserve.”

“The blood of prophets, God’s people, and everyone who had been murdered on earth was found in it.”
