Soon afterward, Mary hurried to a city in the mountain region of Judah.

The whole church and everyone else who heard about what had happened were terrified.

When Ananias heard Peter say this, he dropped dead. Everyone who heard about his death was terrified.

A feeling of fear came over everyone as many amazing things and miraculous signs happened through the apostles.

Everyone was struck with fear and praised God. They said, “A great prophet has appeared among us,” and “God has taken care of his people.”

After 3½ days the breath of life from God entered the two witnesses, and they stood on their feet. Great fear fell on those who watched them.

All the Jews and Greeks living in the city of Ephesus heard about this. All of them were filled with awe for the name of the Lord Jesus and began to speak very highly about it.

So Joshua captured the whole land—the mountains, the Negev, the foothills, and the slopes. There were no survivors. He claimed every living creature for the Lord by destroying it, as the Lord God of Israel had commanded.

The men of Gibeon sent this message to Joshua at the camp in Gilgal: “Don’t abandon us! Come quickly, and save us. Help us because all the Amorite kings who live in the mountains have united against us.”

Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea when Herod was king. After Jesus’ birth wise men  from the east arrived in Jerusalem.

Everyone was amazed and praised God. They were filled with awe and said, “We’ve seen things today we can hardly believe!”

Everyone who heard the shepherds’ story was amazed.
