Then the man said to me, “The northern and southern side rooms that face the open area are holy rooms. These rooms are where the priests who come near the Lord eat the holiest offerings. Because these rooms are holy, the priests keep the holiest offerings there: the grain offerings, the offerings for sin, and the guilt offerings.

The rest of the grain offering will belong to Aaron and his sons. It is very holy, set apart from the Lord’s offering by fire.

He may eat the food of his God—what is holy and what is very holy.

Then he will take off these clothes and put on some others. He will take the ashes to a clean place outside the camp.

Any male among the priests may eat the offering for sin. It is very holy.

The priest will burn them on the altar. It is a guilt offering by fire to the Lord.

Suppose a person carries meat set aside for a holy purpose and he folds it up in his clothes. If his clothes touch bread, boiled food, wine, oil, or any kind of food, does that make the food holy?” The priests answered, “No.”

Look at the people of Israel from a human point of view. Don’t those who eat the sacrifices share what is on the altar?

Don’t you realize that those who work at the temple get their food from the temple? Don’t those who help at the altar get a share of what is on the altar?
