“The priest will burn the fat on the altar. However, the breast will belong to Aaron and his sons.

“Take the breast from the ram used for Aaron’s ordination, and present it to the Lord. This will be your share.

Then the priest will burn the fellowship offering on the altar. It is food, an offering by fire to the Lord.

From the fellowship offerings of the Israelites, I have taken the breast that was presented ⌞to me⌟ and the thigh from the contribution offering. I have given them to the priest Aaron and his sons. This is a permanent law for generations to come.

Moses also took the breast from the ram of the ordination offering and presented it to the Lord. It was Moses’ share, as the Lord had commanded.

“The contributions that come as gifts taken from the offerings presented by the Israelites are also yours. I am giving these to you, your sons, and your daughters. They will always be yours. Anyone in your household who is clean  may eat them.

But the meat is yours, like the breast and the right thigh that are presented.

Don’t you realize that those who work at the temple get their food from the temple? Don’t those who help at the altar get a share of what is on the altar?

This is what the people owe the priests whenever they sacrifice an ox, a sheep, or a goat: the shoulder, jaws, and stomach.
