Whoever carries any part of their dead bodies must wash his clothes. He will be unclean until evening.

After Moses went down the mountain to the people, he had them get ready, and they washed their clothes.

“Regarding the creatures mentioned above, this is how you would become unclean: Whoever touches their dead bodies will be unclean until evening.

All animals whose hoofs are not completely divided or that don’t chew their cud are unclean for you. Whoever touches them is unclean.

Those who carry the dead body of any of these animals must wash their clothes and will be unclean until evening. These animals are unclean for you.

Those who eat any of its dead body must wash their clothes and will be unclean until evening. Those who carry its dead body away will wash their clothes and will be unclean until evening.

On the seventh day the priest will examine him again. If the diseased area has faded and not spread, the priest must declare him clean. It is only a rash. The person must wash his clothes and will be clean.

Whoever goes into the house any time it is closed up will be unclean until evening.

Whoever sleeps or eats in the house must wash his clothes.

“The one to be cleansed must wash his clothes, shave off all his hair, and wash. Then he will be clean. After that he may go into the camp. However, for seven days he will live outside his tent.

“When a man’s discharge stops, he must wait seven days to be cleansed. He must wash his clothes and his body in fresh water. Then he will be clean.

The priest will sacrifice one as an offering for sin and the other as a burnt offering. So in the Lord’s presence, the priest will make peace with the Lord for the man who had a discharge.

“The man who released the goat to Azazel must wash his clothes and his body. Then he may return to the camp.

Whoever burns them must wash his clothes and his body. Then he may return to the camp.

“Native Israelites or foreigners who eat the body of an animal that dies naturally or is killed by another animal must wash their clothes and their bodies. They will be unclean until evening. Then they will be clean.

The priest must then wash his clothes and his body. After that, he may go into the camp. But he will be unclean  until evening.

The person who burned the calf must also wash his clothes and his body. He, too, will be unclean until evening.

On the seventh day wash your clothes, and you will be clean. Then you may come into the camp.”

Peter told Jesus, “You will never wash my feet.” Jesus replied to Peter, “If I don’t wash you, you don’t belong to me.”

What are you waiting for now? Get up! Be baptized, and have your sins washed away as you call on his name.’

We have been sprinkled ⌞with his blood⌟ to free us from a guilty conscience, and our bodies have been washed with clean water. So we must continue to come ⌞to him⌟ with a sincere heart and strong faith.

These gifts and sacrifices were meant to be food, drink, and items used in various purification ceremonies. These ceremonies were required for the body until God would establish a new way of doing things.

Baptism, which is like that water, now saves you. Baptism doesn’t save by removing dirt from the body. Rather, baptism is a request to God for a clear conscience. It saves you through Jesus Christ, who came back from death to life.

But if we live in the light in the same way that God is in the light, we have a relationship with each other. And the blood of his Son Jesus cleanses us from every sin.

I answered him, “Sir, you know.” Then he told me, “These are the people who are coming out of the terrible suffering. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the lamb.
