After them will come seven years of famine. People will forget that there was plenty of food in Egypt, and the famine will ruin the land.

Remember, my life is only a breath, and never again will my eyes see anything good.

Wicked people are far from being saved, because they have not searched for your laws.

Now my bitter experience turns into peace. You have saved me and kept me from the rotting pit. You have thrown all my sins behind you.

The mountains may move, and the hills may shake, but my kindness will never depart from you. My promise  of peace will never change,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

We all growl like bears. We coo like doves. We hope for justice, but there is none. We hope for salvation, but it’s far from us.

Looters swarm all over the bare hills in the desert. The Lord’s sword destroys them from one end of the land to the other. No one will be safe.

Have you completely rejected Judah? Do you despise Zion? Why have you struck us so hard that we cannot heal? We hope for peace, but no good comes from it. We hope for a time of healing, but there’s only terror.

“This is what the Lord says: Don’t go into a house where people are grieving. Don’t go to mourn or to grieve for them. I’m taking my peace, love, and compassion away from these people,” declares the Lord.

We hoped for peace, but nothing good has happened. We hoped for a time of healing, but there’s only terror.

I’m crying because of ⌞all⌟ these things. My eyes—my eyes flow with tears. No one can give me the comfort I need to keep me alive. Everyone is too far away from me. My children are devastated because my enemies have won.”

Before that time there was no money to hire any person or animal. No one who traveled was safe from the enemy. I turned every person against his neighbor.
