The Lord became an enemy. He swallowed up Israel. He swallowed up all of its palaces. He destroyed its strongholds. He made the people of Judah mourn and moan.

He is very angry at me. He considers me to be his enemy.

But they rebelled and offended his Holy Spirit. So he turned against them as their enemy; he fought against them.
