Joshua said to Achan, “Son, give honor and praise to the Lord God of Israel! Tell me what you have done. Don’t hide anything from me.”

Isaiah asked, “What did they see in your palace?” Hezekiah answered, “They saw everything in my palace, and I showed them everything in my treasury.”

Hezekiah spoke encouraging words to all the Levites who had the skills to serve the Lord. They ate the festival meals for seven days, sacrificed fellowship offerings, and confessed their sins to the Lord God of their ancestors.

I made my sins known to you, and I did not cover up my guilt. I decided to confess them to you, O Lord. Then you forgave all my sins. Selah

I admit that I am rebellious. My sin is always in front of me.

Whoever covers over his sins does not prosper. Whoever confesses and abandons them receives compassion.

Honor the Lord your God before it gets dark, before your feet stumble on the mountains in the twilight. You will look for light, but the Lord will turn it into the shadow of death and change it into deep darkness.

I prayed to the Lord my God. I confessed and said, “Lord, you are great and deserve respect as the only God. You keep your promise  and show mercy to those who love you and obey your commandments.

Only this foreigner came back to praise God.”

So once again the Jews called the man who had been blind. They told him, “Give glory to God. We know that this man who gave you sight is a sinner.”

By believing you receive God’s approval, and by declaring your faith you are saved.

He must be gentle in correcting those who oppose the Good News. Maybe God will allow them to change the way they think and act and lead them to know the truth.

Tell older men to be sober. Tell them to be men of good character, to use good judgment, and to be well-grounded in faith, love, and endurance.

An angry person doesn’t do what God approves of.

Then Achan answered Joshua, “It’s true. I have sinned against the Lord God of Israel. This is what I did:

They were severely burned. They cursed the name of God, who has the authority over these plagues. They would not change the way they think and act and give him glory.

“Tell me,” Saul asked Jonathan. “What did you do?” So Jonathan told him, “I tasted a little honey on the tip of the staff I had in my hand. And for that I am to die?”

Make models of your tumors and your mice which are destroying the country, and give glory to the God of Israel. Maybe he will no longer be so hard on you, your gods, and your country.
