Didn’t Moses give you his teachings? Yet, none of you does what Moses taught you. So why do you want to kill me?”

The Pharisees left and plotted to kill Jesus.

“When the workers saw his son, they said to one another, ‘This is the heir. Let’s kill him and get his inheritance.’

When the chief priests and the experts in Moses’ Teachings heard him, they looked for a way to kill him. They were afraid of him because he amazed all the crowds with his teaching.

Then he asked them, “Is it right to do good or to do evil on the day of rest—a holy day, to give a person back his health or to let him die?” But they were silent.

The Pharisees left, and with Herod’s followers they immediately plotted to kill Jesus.

Laws were given through Moses, but kindness and truth came into existence through Jesus Christ.

The Jews tried to arrest Jesus again, but he got away from them.

From that day on, the Jewish council planned to kill Jesus.

The Jews began to persecute Jesus because he kept healing people on the day of rest—a holy day.

His reply made the Jews more intent on killing him. Not only did he break the laws about the day of rest—a holy day, but also he made himself equal to God when he said repeatedly that God was his Father.

“Don’t think that I will accuse you in the presence of the Father. Moses, the one you trust, is already accusing you.

Jesus later traveled throughout Galilee. He didn’t want to travel in Judea because Jews there wanted to kill him.

Some of the people who lived in Jerusalem said, “Isn’t this the man they want to kill?

This is the Moses who was in the assembly in the desert. Our ancestors and the Messenger who spoke to him on Mount Sinai were there with him. Moses received life-giving messages to give to us,

What, then, is the purpose of the laws given to Moses? They were added to identify what wrongdoing is. Moses’ laws did this until the descendant to whom the promise was given came. It was put into effect through angels, using a mediator.

It’s clear that not even those who had themselves circumcised did this to follow Moses’ laws. Yet, they want you to be circumcised so that they can brag about what was done to your body.

Be impartial in your decisions. Listen to the least important people the same way you listen to the most important people. Never be afraid of anyone, since your decisions come from God. You may bring me any case that’s too hard for you, and I will hear it.”

Moses gave us these teachings. They belong to the assembly of Jacob.
