From that day on, the Jewish council planned to kill Jesus.

They saw him from a distance. Before he reached them, they plotted to kill him.

I warned them. “Why are you spending the night in front of the wall?” I asked them. “If you do it again, I’ll arrest you.” After that, they no longer came on the day of rest—a holy day.

From that day on, half of my men worked on the wall, and the other half were wearing body armor and holding spears, shields, and bows. The leaders stood behind all the Judeans

Thank the name of the Lord now and forever.

Kings take their stands. Rulers make plans together against the Lord and against his Messiah  by saying,

I have heard the whispering of many people— terror on every side— while they made plans together against me. They were plotting to take my life.

My enemies talk about me. They watch me as they plot to take my life.

Jeremiah answered Zedekiah, “If I answer you, you’ll kill me. If I give you advice, you won’t listen to me.”

Then the officials said to the king, “Have this man put to death. He discourages the soldiers who are left in this city and all the people by telling them such things. This man is not trying to help these people; he’s trying to hurt them.”

The Pharisees left and plotted to kill Jesus.

From that time on Jesus began to inform his disciples that he had to go to Jerusalem. There he would have to suffer a lot because of the leaders, the chief priests, and the experts in Moses’ Teachings. He would be killed, but on the third day he would be brought back to life.

No one could answer him, and from that time on no one dared to ask him another question.

They made plans to arrest Jesus in an underhanded way and to kill him.

The chief priests and the whole council were searching for false testimony to use against Jesus in order to execute him.

It was two days before the Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread. The chief priests and the experts in Moses’ Teachings were looking for some underhanded way to arrest Jesus and to kill him.

The Pharisees left, and with Herod’s followers they immediately plotted to kill Jesus.

So the chief priests and the Pharisees called a meeting of the council. They asked, “What are we doing? This man is performing a lot of miracles.

The chief priests planned to kill Lazarus too.

Jesus later traveled throughout Galilee. He didn’t want to travel in Judea because Jews there wanted to kill him.

When the men on the council heard this, they became furious and wanted to execute the apostles.
